The Autumn Meeting of the Tourism Industry is an annual gathering where tourism professionals in East Iceland come together to meet, learn, exchange experiences and enjoy some time together.
This year, we are heading to Seyðisfjörður, where we have put together a varied programme covering a wide range of topics relevant to tourism in East Iceland.
We will look back on the year, explore marketing opportunities and campaigns, discuss the image of tourism, storytelling and AI, get practical advice on social media, and hear about Seyðisfjörður as a destination throughout the year.
On the programme:
Visit Austurland
The year in review, travel routes as a marketing tool, campaigns of the year and results.
Daði Guðjónsson and Hrafnhildur Þórisdóttir – Business Iceland
Don’t be boring – a new campaign for Iceland, the role of East Iceland and the risk of being predictable in our storytelling.
Jóhannes Þór Skúlason – Icelandic Travel Industry Association
A positive image of the tourism industry, cooperation for success.
Ásta Kristín – Iceland Tourism Cluster

Seyðisfjörður all year round.
When the formal programme finishes at 4:00 PM, we will head out for a little tour of Seyðisfjörður, before ending the day with dinner, entertainment and good company into the evening.
The Autumn Meeting is not just about the presentations. It is an opportunity for tourism professionals across East Iceland to meet, exchange ideas and experiences, strengthen connections and enjoy good company.
