Strútsfoss waterfall in Strútsá river falls from the edges of Villingadalur valley into Suðurdalur valley. The waterfall, which is divided into two parts, is one of the highest in Iceland. The lower part is about 100 m high, and the upper part about 20 m. Below the waterfall, the river falls into a deep gorge, Strútsgil. The hiking trail runs from Sturluflöt, the innermost farm in Suðurdalur up by Fellsá over a bridge on Strútsá up to Villingafell over Strútsá above the bridge, to a pearl path on the way down. Strútsfoss is one of the pearls of Fljótsdalshérað.
