Gistihúsið – Lake Hotel Egilsstadir is an established, family-run hotel in a farming district. It meets all modern standards of services and amenities, quality, sophistication, and comfort. Yet it faithfully maintains its ethnic origins as the hotel was founded in 1903, providing its unique atmosphere. Guests can choose between residing in rooms decorated in a romantic style with antiques in the older part of the hotel or furnished in a stylish contemporary way located in the more recent part. Gistihúsið – Lake Hotel Egilsstadir is built on the river banks of the great and beautiful Lagarfljót by the town of Egilsstaðir and is as such centrally situated in East-Iceland. It is comfortably located for transport via air or by land; only a stone's throw away from main route one and Egilsstaðir airport. Baðhúsið – SPA is situated on the ground floor of Gistihúsið – Lake Hotel Egilsstadir. It features a comfortable, indoor hot tub (40°C) and a mild sauna that combines the comforts of the steam room and the dry sauna. Its humidity is around 60%, and it warms up to 65°C. There is also a cool sitting pool at 10°C. Relaxing areas are both indoors and outside. The view from Baðhúsið – SPA across the lake Lagarfljót is breathtaking. We want our guest's visit to the spa to be an enjoyable experience of tranquility, relaxation, and rejuvenation. Bathrobes and towels are provided in the dressing rooms. The age limit for the spa is 12 years old. Eldhúsið - restaurant, the hotel's restaurant is innovative and ambitious. Eldhúsið offers Icelandic as well as international cuisine. The service is personal, cooking ingredients are fresh, local, and always of the very best quality for each season. Like the hotel itself, its cuisine is rooted in solid tradition. Still, the ingredients are now introduced with subtle changes and serve its meals with a new perspective, resulting in memorable culinary experiences. We value the quality of ingredients, and most of it is Icelandic, organic, and grown locally. Gistihúsið - Lake Hotel Egilsstadir has cross-country skis for rent during the winter. Multiple cross-country tracks are located in close proximity to the hotel. Ask in the reception which tracks are available during your stay.

Blábjörg Resort is located in the idyllic fishing village of Bakkagerði in Borgarfjörður eystri. Surrounded by beautiful mountains and unique nature, various hiking trails and outdoor activities can be found here both during the summer and winter seasons. Rising out of the village is the mystical Elf City, Álfaborg, where the elves watch over the town and its visitors. Hafnarhólmi, the puffin colony, is buzzing with birdlife from early April to the middle of August and is unique to experience.  At Blábjörg, we have a variety of options available for your stay. Blábjörg features a guesthouse with shared facilities, hotel rooms with private facilities, luxury apartments, a restaurant, and a spa. Frystiklefinn, our restaurant, puts great effort into our menu and includes fresh local ingredients in all our dishes. Musteri Spa offers a variety of treatments, both for your body and spirit. Our guesthouse offers 11 small, but cozy rooms with three shared bathrooms, together with the new hotel building with nine deluxe double rooms, all with private bathrooms, balconies, and picturesque views.  In addition, we offer four self-contained apartments - two studio apartments with an ocean view, a 2-bedroom apartment, and a 3-bedroom apartment.

Mjóeyri Cottages are one of Eskifjörður’s trademarks. They are the charming, red-colored fishing sheds of Norwegian origin. Our cottages are located on the Mjóeyri peninsula, just outside the village, and offer unbelievable tranquility and a stunning view over the fjord and the surrounding mountains. We offer three kinds of cottages of different sizes.  Each cottage is homey and includes equipped kitchens, living area, and bathroom facilities.  TV, bed linen, towels, and free Wifi is available in the cottages.  The biggest cottages are 39m2 and can accommodate 4-6 persons and the smaller, 24m2 and 29m2, can accommodate 2-4 persons.  Breakfast is available upon advanced notice. Dinner is available during the summer season June – September and is served in our restaurant Randúlfs Sea House, about 500 meters from the guesthouse.  The original house was built in 1885. It has been renovated, updated, and newly decorated, and now it bears the mark of the old and the new times. We put our efforts into creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. From the guesthouse, there is an excellent view of the fjord and the town of Eskifjordur. We offer accommodations in four bedrooms; single, double and twin with joint cooking facilities, a living room, and washroom facilities. All rooms have radio and TV. The premises are a no-smoking area. A spacious veranda lends access to the breakfast room. Bathhouse with sauna, showers, toilets and washing machine is also available for our guests and Jacuzzi in a boat is located in front of the bathhouse.  

Wilderness Center of Iceland - Center of Recreation The Wilderness Center is an authentic and peaceful hideaway, located right on the edge of Northern Europe´s most extensive wilderness. Skipalækur combines all the advantages of rural and urban residency. This peaceful haven in the Fell region -which boasts some of the most splendid views East Iceland has to offer - is but a stone´s throw away from all the service centres of Fellabær and Egilsstaðir. The Skipalækur camping place has all the facilities required for a successful and enjoyable stay. Skipalækur offers full-fledged overnight stay or sleeping bag accommodation  in rooms of three categories: Rooms without bath and shared living room, WC and cooking facilities. Suitable for up to 10 people. Bed w. linen in single or double rooms, w/without breakfastFamily rooms for 4 people w. private WC and sink, shared shower-, cooking- living room facilities.Bed w. linen, w/without breakfast, children 2-11 years pay half-rates. The five Skipalækur chalets, situated on the banks of lake Lögurinn, offer an exceptional view. Each chalet comes with furniture, bathroom, and shower, a small kitchen w. stove and a refrigerator. TV, radio and a grill come with every chalet. Three of the chalets can accommodate four guests while two are tailored to the needs of two persons. Each hut has space for two extra persons. You will find the farm Síreksstaðir in glen Sunnudalur, a small and peaceful haven off valley Hofsárdalur in Vopnafjörður. The farm boasts a small guesthouse with 7 rooms along with two summerhouses, each with space for 4 people. Both offer comfortable accommodation with a roomy deck and one has a hot tub.  The guesthouse has a living room, bathroom, and showers in shared facilities. Síreksstaðir is a traditional farm with sheep, cattle, horses, and ducks in addition to guest accommodation. Since this is a working farm, our guests will have a “front-row seat” during the moving season and other farm activities. Hotel Eyvindará is a peaceful and forested haven in the close vicinity of town Egilsstaðir. The site enjoys a scenic view over the surrounding region; Egilsstaðir and neighboring village Fellabær. The hotel is situated just off highway no. 94, just off the crossroads to Seyðisfjörður. This is the ideal hub for day trips around the East and the neighbouring highlands. The guesthouse Álfheimar disposes of 32 double rooms with private bathrooms. Restaurant with special dishes made out of local raw material. Convenient location for hiking tours. 1-6 days organized hiking tours in the magnificent nature are available, conducted by local guides.  Nearby Hafnarhólmi harbor is known for bird watching and an easy access to the magnificent puffins... Borgarfjörður is a fairyland with nice panorama which springs alive through countless elf stories and fairy tales from the area.

Hotel Staðarborg is an accommodating and recent hotel with 30 rooms, located in the heartland of eastern Iceland in the valley Breiðdalur. The hotel is by the Ring road no 1, some 625 km. from Reykjavík and 100 km from Seyðisfjörður. This makes it a suitable resting place for those traveling on the ferry Norraena. Recreational opportunities for traveler abound in this beautiful area Staðarborg opened in June 2000. It is situated in the eastern part of Iceland, in the valley Breiðdalur, between Egilsstaðir and Höfn. The building is a former schoolhouse which has now been thoroughly renovated. The hotel can accommodate 54 people in 30 spacious rooms complete with private facilities and television.The hotel restaurant offers meals a la carte, refreshments are available throughout the day. The travel service at Stóra-Sandfell is located 17 km. south of Egilsstaðir, by highway 95. When driving over the road called Öxi (which is the shortest route) or Breiðdalsheiði, the roads lie between Höfn and Egilsstaðir. At our facilities we offer many different types of accomodations, cottages, rooms or at our campsite. We also offer horseriding tours through Sandfell‘s forest and nearby. Many lovely hiking trails are in the area. Our accomodations are close to all of the major tourist-attractions in the Eastern Fjords. The travel service at Stóra-Sandfell has been run by the same family for 30 years and combines experience with eastern hospitality. We put emphasis on having a good and personal contact with our all guests and want to make sure they will be able to enjoy themselves in a beautiful and relaxing enviroment, surrounded by Icelandic nature. We do offer 10 cottages, of different types, but all are build for 2-4 persons. All of them do have a private kitchenette and access to a gas grill. Six of the cottages have private bathrooms but the other four share a bathhouse together. The 3 rooms each have a private enterence and a small private bathroom. All rooms share a kitchen and all have access to a gas grill. The campsite is surounded by the old birch forest and is ideal for families or induviduals with tents or campers. On the site there are dining benches, making it comfortable to eat outside in the nature. A small stream goes through the campsite and is perfect for the younger members of the family to make a splash in. In the restrooms we have toilets, showers and outdoor sinks with cold and hot water. All of the horseriding tours are monitored by a guide. We always try to make sure we find a horse that suits each and every rider well. Before each trip we go over all safety rules and do some practice rounds inside a fence. There is no fixed time for the riding tours, so all tours are planned individually. The minimum number of riders is 2 for each trip and the maximum is 10 riders.
