Bragðavellir Cottages
Bragdavellir Cottages is a family-owned company which offers accommodation in cosy cottages. We are located in the countryside close to the ring road in East Iceland. We are approximately 10 mins drive from the town of Djúpivogur where you can find all necessary services, such as a supermarket, swimming pool, restaurants and coffee shops. Bragðavellir Cottages offer three types of cottages, one-bedroom, two-bedroom and a holiday home, suitable for larger groups or families.

Bird watching A visit to eiderdown farmers We invite you to visit our farm-takes for about 3 hrs. Guests learn how the eider ducks live and nest, and how the eiderdown is cleaned. Guests can examine how eiderdown is processed through various stages until it is put into quilts and pillows. Trips twice weekly from 25 May until 3 July. It is necessary to book ahead-see the phone number and email address to the right. We take an easy walk around the living and nesting areas of the eider ducks with guides who are eider farmers at Ytri-Nýpur. Our guests have the opportunity of seeing how this wild bird is protected and cared for so that it feels comfortable. Also are other birds in the nesting area. It is crucial to walk carefully and listen carefully to the guide throughout the walk. The visit to the farm‘s down-cleaning building where you will have the opportunity to inspect and feel the eiderdown in various stages of the cleaning process and also to see samples of completed products. Guests are invited to the „down-farmers‘ guestroom“ next door to enjoy light refreshments. In the guest room are items connected with farming in the last years. Total time of visit about 3 hours. At Fjalladýrð Tourist Services, we provide our guests with the chance to experience traditional food, culture, and accommodation in peaceful surroundings. On our premises you will find a variety of nature walks and other forms of outdoor recreation. The Fjalladýrð team is conscious about the environment and we try to meet all the environmental challenges running a tourist service constitutes. We offer personal service, with the goal of allowing our customers to get closer to their origins. We work to achieve this by offering homemade food, traditional Icelandic rural culture and further recreation options tailored to the interests of each group or person. Fjalladýrð offers accommodation for up to 70 people in rooms with dressed beds and private or shared facilities. A well serviced camping ground is also at hand. The restaurant/café Fjallakaffi - "The Mountain Café" awaits you with homemade delicacies like "kleinur" and "Ástarpungar" - Icelandic doughnuts treats, not to mention the renowned Icelandic lamb meat soup, Icelandic moss-soup, local trout, and a local lamb steak. All this and more to be found on our menu. Möðrudalur is the highest settled farm in Iceland, 469 meters ( 1548 feet) above sea-level. It has been inhabited since early settlement in Iceland. Möðrudalur has served as a presbytery for centuries. The builder of the church in Möðrudalur was Jón A. Stefánsson (1880 - 1971). He was a great farmer as well as an artist and the altarpiece is made by himself. His son was Stefán ,,Stórval" Jónsson (1908 - 1994), a one of a kind character and a painter. The panorama view from the farm is interesting in many ways - judge for yourself. Bragdavellir - Cottages and a restaurant in Hamarsfjordur Bragdavellir Cottages At Bragdavelldir in Hamarsfjordur, east Iceland, we offer accommodation in 2-8 person cottages. The houses are equipped with all the essentials needed for a good rest and a nice stay. They all have a microwave, a refrigerator, and a stove. BBQ is also available for those who want. Bragdavellir is a short distance from a local town, Djupivogur, offering necessary service f.ex. bank, supermarket, health clinic and so on. Beautiful paths for walks are all around Bragdavellir, suited for both advanced hikers and beginners.  You might even run into our farm animals on your walks! (Ducks, chickens, horses, rabbits and sheep). In walking distance from the cottages is Bragdavellir Barn Restaurant for those who want to taste an of local ingredients. The restaurant is open during the summer months. Bragdavellir is a peaceful place, perfect for unwinding and breathing in clean, Icelandic air.  Bragdavellir Barn Restaurant At Bragdavellir in Hamarsfjordur, east Iceland, you can find a friendly family-owned restaurant. It is located in an old Barn and cowshed that has been renovated into a bistro restaurant offering a simple but good menu with an emphasis on local ingredients. Barn restaurant has a cozy atmosphere that makes you forget about everyday worries and gives you a chance to relax and unwind. Approx 20min walk from the restaurant is a beautiful waterfall named Snædalsfoss which is an easy hike to walk to. Along the way, you might run into our ducks, chickens, horses or even sheep. The restaurant is open during the summer months and you are welcome to call for further information. We also offer accommodation in 2-8 person cottages all year round. 
Stóra-Sandfell Horse Rental
The horse rental/The travel service at Stóra-Sandfell is located 17 km. south of Egilsstaðir, by highway 95. When driving over the road called Öxi (which is the shortest route) or Breiðdalsheiði, the roads lie between Höfn and Egilsstaðir. We offer horseriding, 1-2 hours tours, through Sandfell's forest and nearby. All of the horseriding tours are monitored by a guide. We always try to make sure we find a horse that suits each and every rider well. Before each trip we go over all safety rules and do some practice rounds inside a fence. There is no fixed time for the riding tours, so all tours are planned individually. The minimum number of riders is 2 for each trip and the maximum is 10 riders. Horse rental Finnsstaðir Horse Ranch boasts quality horses who tölt on demand. Whether or not you are an experienced rider, they have the right horse for you.  They ride out in small groups and choose a trail depending on the mood and the weather.  All emphasis is put on the safe and pleasant experience of both humans and animals.  You can choose between a one or two hour tour.   Guesthouse  Finnsstaðir has a house for rent at the ranch. The house is spacious and equipped with all standard modern comforts, e.g. washing machine and dryer, stove, microwave,television, and Wi-Fi.  Outside there is nothing but nature with plenty of interesting hiking paths and apetting zoo in the farmyard.  For groceries and other services, there is only a 5-minute drive to Egilsstaðir. Guided HORSE RIDING TOURS comes at a special price for guests who stay at the ranch. If you stay over five nights you get a free riding tour!  Petting zoo  Finnsstadir Petting Zoo houses sheep and lambs, cows and calves, pigs and piglets, ducks and ducklings, horses, hens, and roosters and is open from 10 am to 5 pm every day, from 1 May to 30 September.  The animals at Finnsstaðir love people, especially little people, from all parts ofthe world.

We at Tinna Adventure are Icelandic nature and travel enthusiasts. Whether by car, on a bike or on foot, we want to share Iceland’s unique nature and tranquility with you. We have extensive experience in mountaineering. Our background also includes work with the internationally recognized Icelandic Search and Rescue Association. We travel in small groups, where each Super jeep has the maximum capacity of 4 to 10 passengers.  This is done with the objective of giving you a close and personal encounter with the magnificent Icelandic nature. Our emphasis is on slow travel and a personal connection with nature. Most of all, an experience where each passenger can take the time they wish, long or short exploring Icelandic nature on their own terms. The travel service at Stóra-Sandfell is located 17 km. south of Egilsstaðir, by highway 95. The travel service at Stóra-Sandfell has been run by the same family for 30 years and combines experience with eastern hospitality. We put emphasis on having a good and personal contact with our all guests and want to make sure they will be able to enjoy themselves in a beautiful and relaxing enviroment, surrounded by Icelandic nature. We do offer 10 cottages, of different types, but all are build for 2-4 persons. All of them do have a private kitchenette and access to a gas grill. Six of the cottages have private bathrooms but the other four share a bathhouse together. The 3 rooms each have a private enterence and a small private bathroom. All rooms share a kitchen and all have access to a gas grill. The campsite is surounded by the old birch forest and is ideal for families or induviduals with tents or campers. On the site there are dining benches, making it comfortable to eat outside in the nature. A small stream goes through the campsite and is perfect for the younger members of the family to make a splash in. In the restrooms we have toilets, showers and outdoor sinks with cold and hot water.
