New exhibition in Galerí Klaustur – Sigrún Lára Shanko / without title - 02.09.2023 – 30.09.2023. Everyone welcome to the opening 2 o´clock, Saturday September 2nd.
Textile artist Sigrún Lára Shanko has specialized in handmade rugs under the Shanko Rugs label. Iceland's nature inspires her design. The works have attracted attention worldwide, e.g., review at The Royal Institute of British Architects. Also large visual works in silk where she took texts from our ancient stories.
Here at this exhibition, she perceives the Icelandic landscape as if in a dream.
The works are made with mixed techniques, acrylic, gilding and oil pastel.
Sigrún Lára moved to Vopnafjörður in 2019.
