Ceramics Workshop with Antonía Berg: Local Clay, Minerals and Outdoor Firing

Join us at the Fish Factory in Stöðvarfjörður for a ceramics workshop series led by ceramic and visual artist Antonía Berg.

The series includes two independent hands-on workshops and a shared outdoor firing in September. You can join one or both workshops, and participants from the earlier sessions will be able to bring their works to the outdoor firing.

Dates:
26 June – 18:00-21:00 - Clay and minerals from the local environment
A 3-hour workshop working with clay from Stöðvarfjörður and Egilsstaðir, together with sand, rocks and other local materials.

25 August – 18:00-21:00 - Berunes clay, geothermal clay, glacial clay and local materials
A 3-hour workshop exploring different Icelandic natural materials through experiments with material, form and surface.

8 September – Communal outdoor firing
Outdoor firing / pit or barrel firing, using glaze, organic materials and locally sourced elements.

The workshop focuses on sustainable approaches to ceramics, connection to landscape, and the creative potential of local materials.

Antonía Berg is a ceramic artist and visual artist, founder and director of FLÆÐI Art Collective and MÓR Ceramic Studio in Hafnarhús, Reykjavík. Her practice focuses on local materials, sustainable craft, geothermal clay, glacial clay and the relationship between ceramics and landscape. Antonía has roots in Berunes in Berufjörður, East Iceland.

Price: 4,000 ISK per person
The price includes participation in the selected workshop and the communal outdoor firing in September.
