Garden Party in Þórsmörk with Saga Unn - Workshop on Food in Visual Art

The evening before the opening of the exhibition “squaring the circle”, a garden party will take place in Þórsmörk with artist Saga Unn. As part of the event, a creative workshop will be held, focusing on the use of food as a medium in visual art. The workshop begins with a short introduction in which Saga will talk about the exhibition and her own use of food in her artistic practice. Participants will then collaborate with Saga to create their own artworks using food. These pieces will be both exhibited and offered to guests attending the exhibition the following day.

 

Participants are welcome (but not required) to bring food from home that would otherwise go to waste. A variety of ingredients will be provided on site for participants to work with. Saga will be present throughout the workshop to assist, guide, and engage with participants. She will also prepare a soup that will be served during the session. After dinner, participants will have time to finalize their pieces and briefly present them to the group.
