“Sumarkvartettinn” (en: The Summer Quartett) is a collaboration of acclaimed musicians from the Icelandic music scene, joining forces from across the country for a short concert series in the summer of 2026. The quartet features singer Björt Sigfinnsdóttir, Ásgeir Ásgeirsson on guitar, Sigmar Þór Matthíason on double bass, and drummer Birgir Baldursson.
The concerts will feature the band’s own arrangements of their favorite jazz and blues songs, mixed with original material, Icelandic hymns and folk songs, as well as occasional “off-genre” gems from various musical directions.
